Zima je tu in z njo mraz. Ker je koža na ustnicah tanjša, je bolj občutljiva, ustnice imajo manjšo zaščito in so hitreje nagnjene k izsuševanju, kar vodi najmanj do suhih ustnic, če že ne do razpokanih in bolečih. Danes sem za vas zbrala par nasvetov, kako se razpokanim ustnicam izognit in kako suhe ustnice pravilno negovat.
Winter is here and it's cold. Because the skin on our lips is thinner  it is more sensitive and our lips have smaller protection then our body. That is why our lips get dry faster, which can also lead to chapped and painfull lips. I prepared for you a few advices on how to take care of your lips.

1. HIDRACIJA 
Prvo pravilo - PIJTE DOSTI VODE. Človeško telo je v celoti odvisno od vode. Delež vode v človeškem telesu se z leti niža in prav vsak dan posebej moramo poskrbeti za dovoljšen vnos vode v organizem. Pri odraslem človeku je to od 2 pa do 3 litre, nekaj od tega pa pridobimo tudi s hrano.
1. HYDRATION
Rule number one - DRINK ENOUGH WATER. Our bodies depend on water. Water content decreases with age and each day we have to ensure a sufficient intake of water. For adults that is somewhere between 2-3 liters per day. You do get some of that through food, tho.

2. ZAŠČITA PRED VREMENSKIMI POJAVI
Pozimi je mrzlo, to verjetno ve že vsak otroček. Mraz,veter in neugodni vremenski pojavi pa v veliki meri vplivajo tudi na naše ustnice, saj mraz v zraku ne zadržuje toliko vlage kot topel zrak. Naše ustnice nimajo dlak za zaščito pred mrazom, zato je prav, da za to poskrbimo mi. Kako? Ob odhodu ven, v mraz, ustnice zaščitimo tako, da si preko njih potegnemo šal ali ruto. Tako bodo zaščitene in manj na udaru.
2. WEATHER PROTECTION
It is cold in winter, a fact every kid knows. Cold, wind and unpleasant weather conditions have a great affect on our lips, since the cold air doesn't have the same amount of moisture as the warm one. Our lips don't have hair on them and there is nothing to protect them from cold, so it is only right that we protect them. How? Everytime you go outside, you cover them with a scarf. This way our lips will be at least a bit protected.

3. SUH ZRAK V ZAPRTIH PROSTORIH
Pozimi se stanovanja ogrevajo in s tem nas doleti tudi suh zrak, ki našim ustnicam zagotovo ne dela dobro. Na srečo ima ta problem zelo preprosto rešitev. Na radiator postavite posodo z vodo, ki se bo segrela in izhlapela in s tem vlažila zrak. Na voljo so tudi razni izparilniki, ki lahko hkrati skrbijo tudi za dišeč prostor. Najbolj enostavna, vendar cenovno manj ugodna rešitev (ki jo uporabljam tudi sama) pa je elektronski vlažilec zraka.
3. DRY AIR INSIDE
When it's cold, we heat our appartements. And with that we get dry air that doesn't do good to our lips. Luckily this problem is solved rather easily. You just put a bowl of water on your radiator that'll heat up and vaporise and moisturize the air. You can also buy any of the evaporators that you can also use to scent your home. The easiest, even though not the cheapest solution (that I also use myself) is an electronic air humidifier.

4. SAMOKONTROLA
Imejmo svoj jezik, zobe in prste pod kontrolo! Prva misel ob suhih ustnicah je ta, da bi jih polizali. Ampak a to res pomaga? Na ustnicah je koža, a ste kdaj pomislili, da bi polizali kak drug del telesa, ker je suh? Bi pomagalo? Ne bi. Za to pa, nič več lizanja ustnic, prenehajmo z grizenjem in stran s prsti! Prsti so umazani, nihče nima sterilnih rok in z dotikanjem na ustnice prenesemo vse mogoče bakterije. In zagotovo ne trgat suhih delcev stran!
4. SELF-CONTROL
Let's have our tongue, teeth and fingers under control! The first impuls with dry lips is to lick them. But does this really help? Let's ask this way: Since your lips are basically skin, do you think licking your dry skin on another part of the body, would actually help moisturize it? I don't think so. So, no licking, biting and touching your lips! Your fingers are dirty and with touching you transfer a huge amount of bacterias on your lips. And especially, don't pluck the dry skin from your lips!

5. PILING
Za odstranitev suhih delcev raje uporabimo piling. Vsak večer pred spanjem, po odstranitvi šminke, z vlažo zobno ščetko nežno zmasirajmo ustnice. Brez zobne paste! S tem bomo opravili dvojno delo - odstranili se bodo suhi delci in hkrati bodo ustnice zmasirane in bolj prekrvavljene. Enkrat na vsake toliko pa si lahko pripravimo malo bolj konkreten piling s tem preprostim receptom za domač piling za ustnice:
-žlička medu
-žlička sladkorja
-par kapljic olivnega olja
Vse skupaj premešamo in vmasiramo v ustnice, speremo in delo je opravljeno! Sledi pa še najpomembnejši korak - zaščita!
5. EXFOLIATING
When your lips are already dry and flaking, the best thing to attack them with is a scrub. Every evening, before bed, when your lips are clean, use the toothbrush and gently massage your lips. No toothpaste, of course. You exfoliate this way. Every once in a while you can also use a bit rougher scrub, I suggest this home made one:
-a spoon of honey
-a spoon of sugar
-a few drops of olive oil
You combine all three ingredients, apply to your lips and massage. Then you rinse it off with luke warm watter and go to the next step - protection.

6. ZAŠČITA
Seveda je pomembno tudi, da ustnice redno negujemo in zavarujemo z umetno bariero. Kako? Z balzamom za ustnice, seveda. Najboljše je, če nimate samo enega, ampak enega povsod, kjer ga potrebujete, npr.: enega v torbici, enega doma, enega v službi, itd. Da je takoj pri roki, ko so ustnice potrebne nege.
6. PROTECTION
It is also important to nurture the lips regularly and to apply a layer of protection. How? With a lip balm, of course. It is best if you have multiples, one everywhere you'd need it. One in your bag, one on your night stand, one in the living room,... That way one is always there when your lips need protection.
